My Goals

While the weekly schedules, assistants, and checklists assist with daily routines. You might also want to make some long-term improvements. That's where My Goals (or Goals for short) comes in.

These goals allow you to work with your client on something far down the road, while not interfering with the regular daily routine. They make the future easier to reach using small steps that together can have a big impact on your client's life. The goals, along with a visual representation of progress, are always waiting for your client in the online environment. Unlike other forms of goal tracking, their progress is never lost, this makes it much easier to pick up where he or she left off.

How does it work?

Goals consist of three major components:

  • Down the road: What is your ultimate goal? E.g. "Independent Living".
  • Your goals: One or more goals that will take you closer to that ultimate goal.
  • Steps: Each of the goals is split into smaller tasks making it easier to go down that road and reach your goal.

This setup allows you and your client to see your progress to the client's ultimate goal down the road. Simply cross off little things, and before you know it, that goal is within reach! This design allows your client to stay motivated, every step of the way.

Step 1: Find your destination down the road

You can start with My Goals by asking the question: what does my client want to achieve?

If you click on the rightmost tab in the client view, labeled 'My Goals', you will see a field on the left. Click it and select an image to represent your goal.

When you've selected the visual representation, you can also add a short description of the goal in the field below it, e.g. "Go on a trip by myself" or "Clean my room".

Somewhere down the road: Where do you want to go?

Step 2: Write down your goals

After writing down your primary goal, now write down what needs to happen in order to accomplish that goal.

  • Click the "+ Add Goal" button
  • Enter the title and, optionally, an image and description

You can always add more goals as you progress.

You can also change the order of the goals using drag-and-drop.

Step 3: Add the steps

You can split each goal into smaller steps. These steps are small things to do to achieve the goal. Every step is one closer to your ultimate goal down the road.

An example: "Have a clean room for a week without help" could be one of the steps to achieve the goal "Manage your own room".

These steps can also be supported with the assistants and checklists.

  • Click the "+ Add steps to divide this goal into smaller easy to reach tasks" button
  • Enter the title and, optionally, an image and description

You can expand the list of steps at any time.

You can also change the order of the steps using drag-and-drop.

Step 4: Keeping up with the progress

The client will then work on the steps necessary to complete the goal. Once the client has completed a step, it can be marked as completed. If all the steps are finished, the goal is completed and can also be marked as done.

Colored indicators and pictures help you and your client keep track of what's completed and what isn't.

You can expand the list of steps at any time.

Adding one step at a time can help your client to focus on the current task.

Drag completed goals to the bottom of the list, so you can focus on the current goals.
